JAMMU, Aug 31: State general secretary, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and candidate Nagrota Assembly Constituency, Rakesh Wazir today said that Jhajjar Kotli would be developed as major tourist spot if he becomes the MLA of the constituency.
Addressing a public meeting at Jhajjar Kotli in Nagrota Assembly Constituency, Wazir said that every effort would be made to increase the compensation of land occupied by National Highway authorities besides rehabilitation of the markets and people who had been unemployed due to the coming up of this new highway at Nagrota, Nandni, Suketar, Jhajjar Kotli, Manthel, etc.
Wazir lambasted the BJP which represents the Nagrota Constituency and NC-Congress which are ruling the State for completely ignoring the beautiful spots of Nagrota constituency including Jhajjar Kotli which could have been developed as a major tourist spot where one crore Vaishnodevi pilgrims could have been diverted and employment and revenue generated.
He said these leaders did nothing else except putting name plates and making false promises for different projects which had never even started.
Wazir said that though the compensation for land occupied by of the National Highway was to be paid by the Central Government but the State Government recommended their rates so low ranges from Rs 60,000 to 70,000 per kanal at Sakaiter Domail and a little higher at Jhajjar Kotli.
He asked the people to change the leaders in the constituency who acted as mute spectator and rather helped the authorities in displacement of the people without their rehabilitation.
