Jhankis taken out on eve of Maha Shivratri

JAMMU, Mar 9: On the eve of Maha Shivratri, falling on tomorrow, the devotees of Lord Shiva took out impressive Jhankis, as Shiv Baraat, which started from Ranbireshwar temple and passed through the main streets of Jammu city.
The Jhanki started from Ranbireshwar temple and passed through  Shalamar Road, Ranbir Market, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazar, Chowk Chabutra, Panjtirthi, Mubarak Mandi, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazar, Parade and culminated at the starting point at Ranbireshwar temple.
The participants in Jhankis had come from far off areras of the country including Mumbai, Bhopal, Muzzafar Nagar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Meerut and Hoshiarpur besides students having affiliation with Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Main attraction of Jhankis were from Punjab Fire, Narsimha, Nagaras, Horses, Dhols, Jugglers, Raakh Wale Shiv Ji, Butna Trolley with Shehnai, Jai Mata, Cure, Ghosts, Veid, Palki, 16 persons carrying Topkris etc.
Shiv Sainiks after conclusion of Jhankis thanked Jammu administration for according full cooperation by deputing senior officers of administration and police on the occasion who ensured successful conduct of Jhankis in all respects.
