JAMMU, July 16: Jammu Hotels, Restaurants and Bar Association (JHRBA) today appealed Farooq Khan, Advisor to Governor and Navin Kumar Choudhary, Administrative Secretary for Tourism Department, for the speedy and time-bound completion of the ongoing tourism related projects.
The demand was projected by JHRBA office bearers during its meeting held today under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Wahi (president JHRBA) and Mushtaq Chaya (president, J&K Hoteliers Club). The other members present were Vikram Gupta (Managing Partner, Radisson Blu Jammu), Raju Chowdhary (Chairman, KC Group), Chander Shekhar (MD, KC Residency) and Siddhant Chowdhary (Director, Ramada Jammu City Centre).
The Association collectively requested the State Government to look into the earlier decision of implementing power tariff at industry rates to the hotels and support the adversely affected hotel industry with GST refund. The association also emphasized on the promotion of Jammu at different platforms to help grow the ailing tourism in the State.
“We have full faith in the Governor’s Administration and we extend our full support for any good cause for the development and promotion of the State” said Kuldeep Wahi. “We would request for the speedy and time-bound completion of the ongoing projects which are in pipeline since long like the Artificial Lake project, International Stadium, yet to be commercially started Cable Car in Jammu and Patnitop, to give some thrust and boost to the much needed tourism in the State,” he added.
The meeting also led to the selection of new office bearers for further strengthening of the association. Kuldeep Wahi shall be the patron to JHRBA whereas the new president of the association would be Raju Choudhary, RD Anand will be vice president and Vikram Gupta will be general secretary of the Jammu Hotels Restaurants & Bar Association. Mushtaq Chaya would be the coordination Head for J&K.
