JHS discusses dev projects under Smart City project

JAMMU, Dec 18: A meeting of Jammu Heritage Society (JHS) was held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Bhuvneshwar Gandotra.
The meeting was attended by Ajesh Rohmetra, general secretary; Sanjeev Kalra and Ashwani Arora, vice presidents; Om Prakash Mahajan, chairman and Baldev Khullar, ex-president.
The meeting had a detailed discussion on various development projects undertaken especially under Smart City project of Jammu city recently wherein JHS was completely ignored by the agencies despite the fact that JHS is working for preservation of heritage of Jammu province since 2009.
Bhuvneshwar Gandotra assured the members that the matter shall be taken up with concerned departments through Raghav Langer, Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
He also assured the members that a letter of request shall be sent to the Divisional Commissioner to engage JHS as one of the stakeholders in future meetings and the copies shall be sent to Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), CEO Smart City Jammu and Joint Commissioner JMC so that JHS can show the projects prepared by it and give suggestions on development of Shri Raghunath Ji Mandir Corridor and its surrounding markets which in turn shall increase the footfall in the area surrounding the historic temple.
