JIAR organizes ano-rectal checkup camp

JAMMU, Mar 22: Jammu Institute of Ayurveda & Research (JIAR), Nardani (Jammu) organized an ano-rectal checkup camp in Shri Sai Charitable Trust Hospital, Pamposh Colony, Janipur.
During the camp, a team of doctors including Dr Sudesh (Associate Professor), Dr Sukrant Sharma (Assistant Professor) and Dr Akanksha Mahajan (SMO), besides PG Scholars, Dr Arjun Gupta, Dr Madhu Bala, Dr Shefali Magotra, Dr Bhawna Biloria and Dr Neeru Bharti examined patients of ano- rectal abscess, fistula, piles and fissure. The needy patients and were also given free medicines and advised for kshara karma and kshara sutra.
Dr Sudesh Gupta told that the more than 80 percent population of age group 21-50 years is suffering from piles, which is also seen common in pregnant ladies. He said that the department of PG studies in Shalya Tantra is doing many research projects like kshara sutra, kshara karma, agnikarma and jaulakavcharan (leeche thearpy) in various ano-rectal diseases so that surgery can be avoided.
He said that after conducting these procedures, patient can resume his/her duties after few hours and can prevent themselves from various complications of surgery. “Many western countries also prefer kshara sutra for fistula -in-ano”, he added.
In the camp, 81 patients were examined of piles, fistula, fissure and 11 of them were advised for para surgical procedure (agnikarma, kshara karma, etc) free of cost.
