Jitendra for better facilities to yatris

JAMMU, July 3: Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh has issued directives to Home Secretary, Anil Goswami to take immediate steps in easing the problems of Amarnath pilgrims for their hassle free pilgrimage.
The directives were issued by Mr Singh to Mr Goswami in a meeting at Union Capital after the Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh called on him and stressed on bettering the facilities for Amarnath pilgrims in view of increasing number of yatris and the problems being faced by them for their registration etc.
Dr Singh advised Home Minister that for easing the problems of yatris, the formalities be simplified and a single window system be adopted for performing various formalities like registration, medical check up etc.
He said that this will help in increasing the nature of yatra and extension of yatra period to a longer duration.
Dr Singh also stressed on reconstitution of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) after this year’s yatra period culminates. Union Home Secretary, Anil Goswami was also present in the meeting.
Dr Singh who is also the Minister of Space Research said that for the facility of yatris four weather forecasts will be made every day in 24 hours for information of yatris about the weather in yatra area. He said world class machinery has been installed by his Ministry to provide weather forecasts to Amarnath pilgrims after every six hours daily.
Dr Singh who reached here early this morning in connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to holy township of Katra for inaugurating the Katra Jammu rail link told Excelsior that every step will be taken for bettering the facilities of Amarnath pilgrims.
