NEW DELHI, Oct 3: Jammu and Kashmir bagged the national award as best performing State under ‘Swacchata Hi Seva’ fortnight campaign held under Swachh Bharat Mission.
The Award was given away by Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation at an impressive function held at Vighyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The Award was received by Commissioner Secretary Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Nirmal Sharma.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the function and talked about the challenges faced by the public in the country.
Director Rural Sanitation J&K, M.M Rehman Ghasi, DPO Leh, Sonam Chosar, and IEC Consultant, Kamran Shamshad were also present at the award ceremony.
