J&K Bank celebrates Platinum

On the occasion of its Platinum celebrations, J&K Bank received kudos from all who matter in the financial sector of the State. The Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, the Finance Minister and above all the Union Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram poured profuse appreciation of the Bank in growing fast and serving the people of the State. Its growth will be gauged from its annual business turnover of Rs. 5. 79 crore and annual profit of Rs. 2.47 Crore in  Silver Jubilee year. The Chief Minister as well as Union Finance Minister hoped that the Bank would expand further with the passage of time and ultimately become the top bank in the country with a large number of branches in all parts of the country and abroad. Incidentally, Chidambaram had a word of appreciation for Late Maharaja Hari Singh who laid foundation of J&K Bank as early as 1938. Appreciably the bank is reaching farthest and remotest nooks of the State like Batalik, Turtuk, Salamabad etc. close to the LoC. The bank, in the words of its Chairman and CEO wants to strike balance between continuity and change.
