Srinagar, June 21: With a view to facilitate basic banking services to the air passengers and local staff , J&K Bank has pressed an ATM into public service at Kerb Area of Civil Airport in Jammu.
The Bank’s General Manager & Divisional Head (Jammu) Sunit Kumar inaugurated the Automated Teller Machine in presence of Director Jammu Airport Sanjeev Kumar Garg, Commandant CISF DS Dhanraj Daniel and Bank’s DGM (Law) Vinod Kumar Sharma amid a gathering of valuable customers besides officials of the airport and the Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, General Manager Sunit Kumar said, “Dedicating the ATM for public here is aimed at ensuring that easy and accessible banking services are available to the tourists visiting Jammu especially pilgrims to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, other air passengers and airport staff round the clock.”
“Aided by the deepening of our digital banking services across our operational geography, the policy of extending banking convenience to all the important public places through these alternate channels shall gain further momentum in the coming times”, he added.
While commending the Bank’s role in the economic development of J&K, Director Sanjeev Kumar Garg thanked Bank’s management for the installation of the ATM at the airport. “I am happy that J&K Bank has commissioned the ATM here because it will add to the overall experience of the air passengers especially tourists and pilgrims visiting Jammu by serving their banking needs. Our staff will also benefit from it”, he said.
Pertinently, with the commissioning of this ATM, the total number of such machines in the Jammu division has risen to 490 while the Bank’s overall ATM network in the country reached 1423 ATMs.
