J&K Bank commissions Easy Banking Unit in Kishtwar

JAMMU, Nov 27: Expanding its network of financial touch points in far-off places, J&K Bank commissioned an Easy Banking Unit (EBU) at Kuchhal in Kishtwar, providing an inclusive and sustainable financial service network in the region.
The Bank’s Zonal Head Jammu, (North I) Vibhakar Khajuria inaugurated the EBU in presence of Cluster Head, Shashi Kumar Sharma. Sarpanchs and Panchayat Committee members along with valuable customers, senior citizens, local businessmen and senior officers of the bank were present on the occasion.
“It is not only a matter of providing service but a moment of great pride for us as we extend our outreach to the remotest parts of J&K and beyond. The bank’s efforts to provide an inclusive and sustainable financial service network in the un-served regions are in line with its policy of providing banking services to the public near their doorsteps”, the Zonal Head said post- inauguration of the EBU.
“Opening of the EBU is a significant step towards implementing the bank’s financial inclusion policy. Through it, the bank will address the financial needs of the people of the area besides making available our customized products and services to a whole new set of potential customers within the catchment area” he added.
Reaffirming the bank’s commitment to provide banking facilities to people irrespective of their locations and status, the Zonal Head said that the EBU shall mark the beginning of a brighter and better financial future of these areas.
The Zonal Head and his team also had an interactive session with the customers and the staff of the EBU wherein he urged the people to take full benefits of the banking facilities especially the social security schemes including PMJJY, PMSBY, PMFBY, APY etc. He also advised the staff to ensure world-class customer service to the residents of the area.
While appreciating the bank for opening the EBU in the area the Sarpanch said, “The EBU shall ensure availability of banking services to all sections of the society at one of the remotest areas of J&K. “We thank the management of the bank especially the Chairman and Managing Directorfor providing such refined financial service delivery mechanisms at far-off places”.
The local people hailed the Bank’s efforts and expressed their gratitude towards its management for extending banking facilities to the unbanked areas besides praising it for being a responsible corporate citizen.
The EBUs shall offer a wide gamut of banking services in the area including cash deposit, cash withdrawal, on-line fund transfer, opening of all types of deposit accounts including time deposits, issuance of cheque books, cheque collection facility, issuance of debit and credit cards and other digital products etc. besides being beneficial for getting social welfare pension and other social security benefits.
