SRINAGAR, Dec 21: J&K Bank has launched the “Kisan Adhikar Abhiyan,” a campaign aimed at achieving full coverage of the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
The campaign, which began on December 20, will run until January 31, 2025, and is being carried out in collaboration with the Directorates of Agriculture and Horticulture in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
The main goal of the campaign is to bring all eligible PM-Kisan beneficiaries under the KCC program and to increase the credit limits of existing KCC accounts.
This will ensure farmers have access to the necessary financial support for their agricultural needs.
Daily camps will be organized across the state, in partnership with the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, to identify and enroll eligible beneficiaries who have not yet applied for the KCC.
The KCC scheme, a key offering of J&K Bank, provides farmers with affordable credit to manage farming activities and reduce dependence on informal, high-interest loans.
In addition to crop cultivation, the KCC also supports expenses for post-harvest management, dairy, poultry and fisheries.
As part of the campaign, J&K Bank aims to achieve 100% KCC coverage, re-activate dormant accounts, increase credit limits, and issue Digital KCCs (RuPay Cards) for easier access to financial services.
The bank is also working to simplify processes like land verification to make credit access more efficient for farmers.
This initiative highlights the Bank’s role in supporting agricultural growth and rural development in the region.
Through its collaboration with the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, J&K Bank aims to ensure that every eligible farmer in Jammu and Kashmir benefits from institutional credit, contributing to the region’s economic growth.
