J&K Bank organises various training progs

Srinagar, Mar 11: J&K Bank RSETI Kupwara organised two week-long skill development programmes on ‘Crewel Embroidery’ which were attended by 76 women identified and selected during the ‘Entrepreneurship awareness camps’ conducted by the institute at Malik Mohalla, Anwar Abad, Dar-ul-Salam and  Sulkoote of the Kupwara town.
The Bank’s Cluster Head, Kupwara inaugurated both the programmes in presence of various Government functionaries and bank executives.
Speaking at the programmes, he urged the participants to take the trainings seriously and try to learn as much as they can during their interaction with Government sponsoring agencies like DRDA, Handicrafts Deptt and bankers as they guide them about the processes and methods involved in establishing Self-Employment Units and apprise them about incentives and subsidies Government offers for.
Director RSETI said that the institute had imparted skill training to 281 women candidates of the district and all of them had been linked with the banks for their credit needs.
The Bank’s RSETI Baramulla concluded a skill development programme on ‘Fashion Designing and Tailoring’, which was attended by 27 candidates from different villages of wagoora and Delina blocks of the district.
A warm send-off was given to 16th batch of trainees during a function at the institute in presence of Assistant Project Officer DRDA Baramulla.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “J&K Bank is creating entrepreneurs from rural areas while identifying and selecting unemployed youth after conducting awareness camps during regular intervals.
RSETI Srinagar concluded a Ten-day skill development training programme on “Embroidery work (Sozni)” for women hailing from Shanpora Habak, Fisherman Colony and Telbal villages.
During the training the participants were made aware about the techniques for making their product more viable and marketable through value addition upon the traditional embroidery work.
Certificates of Participation were also distributed among the trainees on the occasion.
Director RSETI Ms Shahzadi assured the participants of every possible help till establishment of their own enterprises.
The Bank’s Head Business Unit Sonwar was also present at the valedictory function.
