J&K Bank organizes various financial literacy camps

SRINAGAR, Feb 15: With an aim to achieve 100% coverage in terms of bringing remote households in the formal financial system, scores of financial literacy camps have been organized across the State by J&K Bank.
FLCC Budgam with the assistance of BU Waterhail conducted financial awareness camps in Hardu Wail in Khan Sahib, Footlipora area of Nagam, Labertal of Block Budgam. The camps laid a special focus on PMJDY, issuance and benefits of Rupay Debit Card and availing the facilities of DBT Scheme etc. The participants were counseled by A H Rafiqi, Facilitator, FLCC Budgam, Director RSETI, Budgam and officials from Agriculture and Horticulture Departments.
A series of financial literacy and credit counseling camps were also organized by FLCC Baramulla across the district in collaboration with respective branches and Agriculture Department. Apart from Mohammad Sultan Dar, Facilitator, FLCC Centre Baramulla, Riyaz Ahmad Mir, Director RSETI Baramulla and District Agriculture Officers counseled the villagers about matters of finance, financial solutions, agricultural credit and advantages of formal financing.
Various financial literacy camps were also organized by FLCC Bandipora over the last few weeks across the district. During the camps, the participants were made aware about the various schemes of the Bank regarding the development of their business in the field of agriculture, handicrafts and fishery business.
The banking awareness camps were also held at Gali Pindi, Zabda (Dhana ), Chaktroo in Tehsil Mandi, Lassana in Surankote, Pathantir in Mendhar, in Poonch Main.
To give boost to the concept of self-employment, JKBRSETI also organized a six-day training programme on Dairy Farming in Poonch. The programme which was organized for 30 unemployed youth from various villages of district, concluded today. Another 15-day training programme on “Hand Embroidery ” was also organized for 27 unemployed girls from various villages of the Poonch district.
