J&K Bank rewards ATM guard

SRINAGAR, Apr 6: J&K Bank Chairman & CEO Parvez Ahmed today announced a cash reward of Rs 5,000 to the security guard manning the ATM at Gousia Arabic College Qazigund for his act of wit and courage in thwarting burglary attempt on the Auto Teller Machine.
During the intervening night of April 4 and April 5, 2017, the said security guard who was locked inside the ATM kiosk by the miscreants raised hue and cry and called the locals over the cellphone. Locals came rushing to the spot and prevented the attempted burglary.
Expressing his deep sense of gratitude to the locals who came rushing to help the ATM guard. Chairman and CEO Parvez Ahmed said, “The guard’s presence of mind and courage is commendable indeed for which the cash award is merely a token of appreciation from the bank. However, I am deeply moved by the cooperation that the locals of the area have extended, that too, in the dead of night. It serves as a great source of inspiration for us and will further strengthen the bond of trust that the bank shares with the people of J&K.”
