SRINAGAR, Oct 14: The J&K Bank has swiftly settled insurance claims worth Rs 98.93 lakh under its MetLoan & Life Suraksha (MLLS) scheme for seven bereaved families of deceased borrowers from various branches in the Ladakh Zone.
The settlements were formally handed over in a symbolic cheque presentation attended by J&K Bank’s Zonal Head (Ladakh), Tsewang Dorjay, and Irfan Ali Zargar, Associate Director of Credit Life at PNB MetLife, along with Tsetan Phuntsog, Credit Head (Ladakh).
The event was also attended by senior officials from both J&K Bank and PNB MetLife, including Branch Heads from the respective branches and Zonal Insurance Coordinator, Rifat Shazia.
The recipients of the insurance claims expressed their deep gratitude to the bank and its insurance partner, PNB MetLife, for providing timely financial relief.
One of the claimants said, “We are incredibly thankful to J&K Bank for insuring the loans. The settlement of these claims has lifted a heavy financial burden during an immensely difficult time for our family.”
Tsewang Dorjay, Zonal Head (Ladakh), emphasized the importance of loan insurance in protecting families from financial distress.
“In times of hardship, it is our responsibility to ease the burden on our customers. By ensuring their loans through MLLS, we safeguard their financial interests and provide peace of mind,” he said.
Irfan Ali Zargar, Associate Director at PNB MetLife, echoed the sentiment, stressing the significance of loan insurance.
“While we can’t replace the emotional loss, settling these claims provides financial relief, allowing families to focus on healing. This is more than fulfilling a commitment-it’s about supporting families in their time of need,” he added.
