J&K Bankers’ Club to organize Banclave

SRINAGAR, Mar 1: J&K Bankers’ Club would organize a “J&K Banclave on e-Financial Inclusion” under the title  Digital India: e-governance – a way forward.
The Executive Committee of J&K Bankers’ Club resolved to organize the event on April 23, 2016 at Srinagar in its extra ordinary meeting convened by the Regional Director (RBI) at Regional Office Jammu last week.
The meeting was attended by General Managers RBI, Deputy General Manager NABARD, Executive President J&K Bank, Chairman J&K Grameen Bank, Chairman Ellaquai Dehati Bank and senior executives from J&K Bank, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, HDFC Bank, Central Bank of India, Canara Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Regional Director RBI reiterated that the purpose of the club was to contribute towards the society by way of helping the needy besides providing a platform for banks operating in the State for proper and meaningful interaction.
He said that the club could be instrumental in projecting various schemes of the Government aimed at financial inclusion and digitization of banking services for the benefit of public at large.
It was also decided that the club would be holding monthly meetings of individual members and annual general meet besides carrying out other activities like holding of symposia, seminars, Banclaves etc.
