JAMMU, Sept 10: J&K Bhoomi Human Welfare Society staged a Kashmiri Play ‘Lal Ded’ at Abhinav Theatre, here today.
A galaxy of Kashmiri Pandit artists displayed their extraordinary artistic skills in the play.
Ashok Koul, General Secretary Organization BJP was the chief guest on the occasion, while MLC Ajay Bharti; Ex Commissioner JMC Kiran Wattal; Ex DGP Kuldeep Khoda and Social Activist Virender Kuchroo were the guests of honour.
The story of the play was based on the life of Kashmiri saint and poetess ‘Lalleshwari’, popularly known as ‘Lad Ded’.
Lal Ded was a great mystic and ‘Shiv Sadhika’, who left a corpus of her sayings which are in the four lines called ‘Vakh’.
Renowned Kashmiri artists namely Jai Krishan Koul, Asha Zaroo, Bharti Zaroo, Pummy Zutshi, Rahul Kilam, Arvind Tickoo and Jitender Jyotshi were part of the play.
The concept of the play was given by Prof Amar Malmohi and was written and directed by JK Koul (Bezaan).
An impressive gathering witnessed the play to seek the ‘ashirvaad’ of Mata Lalleshwari.
The artists mesmerized the audience with their art and skill.
Later-on, Ashok Koul presented mementoes to the artists, sponsors and the technical team.
A memento was also presented to the chief guest as a token of gratitude from the organizers.
Promilla Koul anchored the programme, while the programme was organized under the overall supervision of Vijay Raina, chairman, J&K Bhoomi Human Welfare Society.
