J&K bracing up for observing Yoga Day: Sharma

JAMMU, June 17: Like other parts of the country Jammu and Kashmir is also bracing up for observing the International Yoga Day and a mega event will be held at Parade Ground here on June 21.
This was stated by International Yoga Day Coordination Committee State convenor Adv. Chander Mohan Sharma while talking to reporters here today. He said that MoS PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Shamsher Singh Manhas, Dy. Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, Speaker Kavinder Gupta, Health Minister Bali Bhagat, State president & MLA Sat Sharma and Party Chief Whip Rajesh Gupta will participate in the main event on being held on June 21 at Mini Stadium, Parade, here.
Sharma said that “Yoga Day” programme will be held in coordination with Ayush Department, J&K and under the guidance of Sat Pal Sharma, President Bharat Yog Sansthan, Sudha Chand Sharma of Patanjali Yog Peeth, Dr. T.R. Raina of Morarji Desai Foundation, Shreyansh Jain of Vichar Kranti Manch and Arogya Bharti. All the regional Yoga organizations including Nehru Yuva are jointly organizing this programme.
Various similar programmes on Yoga will be organized at different places throughout the State, he added.
Moulvi Tariq will coordinate the Yoga programme at Srinagar as its Incharge under the guidance of Yog Guru Anil Sharma of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan and Deepak Sharma of Partanjali Yog Peeth.
Sharma has requested the general public of the State to participate in Yoga Programmes on June 21, which are being organized all over the State for health, peace and tranquality in the society. “Yoga can play major role in bringing back the normalcy in the State”, he added.
BJP State general secretary Harinder Gupta, Dr. T.R. Raina, Ashok Sawhney, Sudha Chander Sharma and D.K. Chopra were also present in the press conference.
