J&K Branch of ICAI organizes seminar

JAMMU, May 12: The J&K Branch of Northern Indian Regional Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, organized a seminar on the topic “Revised Schedule VI & New Opportunities for CAs” here today.
A senior member of the body, Kamal Garg was the guest speaker. While deliberating on the subject, Mr Garg enlightened the members about various important aspects or revised Schedule VI the and new upcoming opportunities in the International financial reporting standards, Audits under Sarbanes Oxley Act and various issues involved in foreign direct investment compliance etc.
Chairman of the J&K Branch of NIRC (ICAI), Sudhir K Wali in his inaugural address laid emphasis on the importance of Revised Schedule VI, which is applicable to the companies. He also informed the members that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs vide its notification No. F.No. 2/6/2008 -CL-V dated 30-3-2011, notified that the Revised Schedule VI is applicable for the balance sheet and profit and loss account to be prepared for the financial year commencing on April 1, 2011. The Revised Schedule VI shall come into force for the balance sheet and profit and loss account to be prepared for the financial year commencing on or after 1-4-2011. He said the seminar will work as guide to the CAs to conduct the audits of companies in an effective and efficient manner.
Secretary J&K Branch, Vishal Rometra conducted the proceedings, while vice chairman of the Branch, Karanbir Singh Sethi presented vote of thanks. A large number of Chartered Accountants participated in the seminar.
