J&K Cabinet for return, rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants

SRINAGAR: The State Cabinet today reiterated its decision for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants.

An official spokesman said here this evening that the Cabinet, which met here under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, reiterated its earlier decision regarding the revised package for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Migrants, already sent to the Union Government.

It also asked the Revenue Department to work out modalities for the implementation of the package and send it to the Union Government.

In another decision, the Cabinet approved restructuring of Auxiliary Police Battalions (Now SDRF).    It also gave sanction to the creation of 60 posts of different categories by corresponding reduction of 86 posts in the two Auxiliary Police Battalions.

The Cabinet also approved promotion of Mohammad Hussain Malik, Deputy Commissioner, Ramban to the Super Time Scale of KAS with effect from June 5.

It also approved promotion of Ravi Kant, Secretary in the J&K Water Resources Regularity Authority to the Selection Grade of KAS from October 3, 2008 to October 18, 2011 and to the Special Scale of KAS from October 18, 20011.

The Cabinet also approved a proposal for issuance of an ordinance to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Special Provisions) Act, 2010. (AGENCIES)
