SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council today passed the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill by voice vote amid boycott by the Opposition, including National Conference and Congress.
Immediately after passing the GST, Legislative Council Chairman Inayat Ali announced that the Upper House be adjourned sine die.
Earlier, the Legislative Assembly passed the GST bill by voice vote amid boycott by the Opposition.
A special four-day session was called by the Speaker and chairman of the Legislative Council to discuss and implement the GST in the state.
Both the Houses later passed Resolution on GST before Cabinet approved it and sent it (Resolution) to the Union Government for Presidential assent. (AGENCIES)
