J&K Day celebrated at 37th IITF

NEW DELHI, Nov 27: Jammu and Kashmir Day was today celebrated by the State Pavilion at the 37th India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan here.
Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, along with Minister of State Industries & Commerce, Haj and Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi launched the celebrations which were marked by cultural programme of all the three regions of the State performed by the artists of Department of Art & Cultural Academy J&K.
The cultural programme depicting the richness of diverse cultural ethos of the State, attracted large number of people. The main thrust of the event was on folk music and dances of J&K.
Jammu and Kashmir State successfully participated in the 14 day long India International Trade Fair which concluded today at Pragati Maidan New Delhi.
The fair as such has assumed status of an iconic event and the participation of the State through the J&K Pavilion is a distinctive feature in the fair.
After the cultural programme, the Minister visited the pavilion where different stalls from J&K were displayed.
Thousands of people thronged the J&K Pavilion and evinced keen interest in the products and commodities of indigenous art and craft of the State having worldwide recognition.
Director Handicrafts, Director Handloom and other senior officers of the State were also present on the occasion.
