NEW DELHI, Nov 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Day based on theme ‘Ease of Doing Business’ was celebrated today at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2019.
Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K.K. Sharma, inaugurated the event.
The fair, which has assumed the status of an iconic event, witnessed a mesmerizing cultural bonanza presented by the artists of Academy of Art, Culture and Language which remained main attraction of the J&K Day besides various stalls displaying unique artifacts and indigenous art and craft presenting J&K’s cultural and traditional legacy .
While addressing the gathering, Advisor Sharma called for promotion of Jammu and Kashmir’s treasured heritage and praised the richness of diverse tradition and cultural legacy of J&K that attracts people from across the world. He laid stress on promoting folk music, dances, art and craft of Jammu and Kashmir which is truly representative of the rich cultural heritage of the region. He appreciated the products displayed at the stalls exhibiting matchless craftsmanship in indigenous art and craft.
Advisor said that under the administration of Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu, the UT of Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing remarkable success in implementing Government of India’s key initiatives such as Start Up India, Skill India, Smart Cities, Swachh Bharat Mission, National Health Mission and Ayush man Bharat etc.
The Advisor said that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has started its own version of ‘Make in Jammu and Kashmir’ with brand name as ‘Invest In J&K’ on the sidelines of ‘Make in India’ to showcase ready, upcoming investment opportunities.
Through this opportunity at IITF-2019 , he invited all the participants to visit J&K and enjoy the beautiful and picturesque tourist spots.
Director-Handicrafts and other senior officers of the J&K UT were present on the occasion.
