J&K EDI conducts awareness programme on StartUp

REASI, Oct 21: Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) today organized an awareness programme on “StartUp & Entrepreneurship” at Government Degree College Katra under the overall supervision of Director J&K EDI Aejaz Ahmed Bhat.
The programme was part of the campaign launched by the Director J&K EDI.
More than 130 students attended the programme held at Government Degree College, Katra.
Sorab , District Nodal Officer at JKEDI Reasi explained the need for exploring the ideas related to innovation and technology. He urged the participant students to express their innovative ideas so that the institute is able to help them to turn those ideas into profitable business ventures. JKEDI official explained the importance of becoming entrepreneur for social and economic development of the nation. He also gave information to the students regarding various self employment schemes of UT administration for the persons who want to become entrepreneur.
Besides Principal GDC Katra Dr. C K Khajuria, faculty members of the college Harpal also participated in the programme. The overall programme was coordinated by Dr. Sunil, Assistant Professor GDC Katra.
In his address, Dr. Khajuria said that the main objective of the programme is to bring mass awareness about the Startup Policy and self employment schemes of UT to inculcate spirit of innovation among the youth to give flip to the conversion of innovative ideas into profitable business ventures.
Later, the JKEDI Reasi conducted another awareness programme on self employment schemes of Govt of UT in dhassanu village of Reasi in which women of Self Help Group registered under UMEED participated. The women were motivated to take benefit of Tejaswini and SEI scheme of Mission Youth.
