JAMMU, Feb 10: The State Tourism Department is expecting record number of tourists to the State this year.
This was stated by Mehmood Ahmed Shah, Director Tourism Kashmir while interacting with media persons at Nagpur today.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Chief Executive Officer, Lakhnapur Sarthal Development Authority, Jitendra Rajindra, Chairman TAAI Nagpur Chapter, Sanjay Deshpande President, Tour Operators Association of Nagpur, Nasir Ahmed, President Pilgrim and Leisure Tour Operators Fourm J&K, Inder Paul Singh, General Secretary , PILTOF and other stake holders were present during media briefing.
Mehmood Ahmed Shah, Director Tourism, Kashmir in his address apprised media persons that after last year’s floods, the damaged infrastructure has been restored and the department in now fully equipped to welcome the tourists to Jammu and Kashmir, which is an all season destination.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, CEO, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority informed that State Government has now raised tourism infrastructure in newer and virgin locations of Doodpathri, Aharbal, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Bani, Basohli, Sarthal ,Surinsar, Mansar and Patnitop. He told that with the inauguration of Cable Bridge at Basohli on Ranjeet Sagar Lake, the tourists can now easily reach Bani and Sarthal areas of Kathua District.
Parveen Datke, Mayor of Nagpur in his address appreciated the efforts of J&K Tourism to promote tourist flow to J&K and asked Tour and Travel Operators of Nagpur to supplement the efforts of J&K Government to increase flow of tourists to paradise on earth.
