J&K gears up for broadcasting Modi’s live address at schools

JAMMU, Aug 31: Jammu and Kashmir has geared up for organizing special broadcast of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address and a Question- Answer session with the school children through television, radio and internet on the Teachers Day, which falls on September 5.
Special instructions in this regard have been issued by the Secretary School Education to both the Directors of Jammu and Kashmir divisions, who have further directed all the Chief Education Officers for making necessary arrangements for the live broadcast of PM speech from 3 pm to 4.45 pm on September 5, official sources informed the Excelsior.
For interaction and question-answer session of the Prime Minister with the J&K students through video-conferencing, Kendriya Vidyalaya Leh has been selected for the purpose and all necessary arrangements for the same have been put into place, sources added.
Jammu Kashmir is one of the five States across the country, which has been selected for interaction between the Prime Minister and students through video conferencing after  live address of the former on the Teachers Day.
Pertinent to mention that that  Ministry of Human Resources Development has issued a directive to all the States throughout  the country  to make arrangements so that students can watch the Prime Minister’s live address on TV, internet  or listen to the same on radio.
Acting on the directive, sources said that Director School Education Jammu, H R Pakhroo and his counterpart in Kashmir, Tariq Ali Mir have asked all the Chief Education Officers in their respective divisions to make necessary arrangements for live broadcast of PM speech through television, radio or internet at the school level.
“All CEOs have been asked to meet heads of Government as well as private schools to assemble the students from 2.30 pm to 4.45 pm on that day so that they can view or listen to the PM address,” said Tariq Ali Mir, Director School Education Kashmir.
According to H R Pakhroo, Director School Education Jammu, television sets are being arranged in the schools in electrified areas whereas in the un-electrified areas, the students will listen to the speech through radio.  “On preparedness for the event and feedback, all the  CEOs will  submit me a report by tomorrow,” he added.
The Director further informed that  school timing on September 5 is likely to be changed for the event.   Instead of  8 am to 2 pm, the school timing may be changed from 10 am to 5 pm on that particular day, he said.
“As Kendriya Vidyalaya Leh has been selected for arranging Prime Minister’s interaction with the students through video-conferencing, necessary arrangements in this regard have been almost finalized with the help of district administration,” Tariq Ali Mir informed.
Through the video-conferencing, the students at KV Leh will interact with the Prime Minister and seek replies to their queries.
A number of schools have termed the maiden initiative as good and positive  on the part of Prime Minister to bond with  students and also take efforts to enhance the image of teachers in  the eyes of students.
The Prime Minister’s interaction with students would be telecast live by Doordarshan through its national and regional channels.  It would also be available through live webcasting on different platforms  of Doordarshan and the website of Ministry of Human Resource Development.
