JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu headed Administrative Council on Thursday accorded sanction to J&K Special Sugar Scheme for AAY families.
Over 2.33 Lakh AAY families in the Union Territory will receive benefit of the J&K Special Sugar Scheme. The families classified as AAY comprise poorest of the poor sections of the society. Under the scheme, 1 Kg of sugar will be provided per AAY family per month through Point of Sale (PoS) devices, at subsidized rate of Rs 13.50/Kg w.e.f January, 2020. (AGENCIES)
