J&K Govt to purchase residential flats in Delhi for IAS officers

JAMMU, Nov 28:  For providing residential accommodation in Delhi for the IAS officers serving in Jammu and Kashmir, the State Government is going to purchase six residential flats in the union capital.
Out of the six residential units, four shall be reserved for IAS officers and the allotment of the remaining two shall be made to other officers of the State, in exceptional circumstances for medical and education purposes.
The allotment shall be made to the officers, who have completed the period of cooling-off, whom the State Government would like to retain in the service of the State and whose dependents are required to remain in Delhi either on health or education ground.
The officers shall be liable to pay the same license fee as is applicable to IAS officers for accommodation allotted to them by the Central Government in Delhi while they are on Central deputation. The allotment shall be terminated as and when the officer proceeds on Central deputation.
To decide modalities of the purchase,  the Government has also constituted a high-level committee, headed by the Chief Secretary   and Principal Resident Commissioner, New Delhi as its convener.
Members of the committee, comprise of Administrative Secretaries of  Planning  and Development Department, Hospitality and Protocol Department, Finance Department, GAD and Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
The committee will finalize the allotment on the earmarked residential accommodations within a transparent and duly notified framework to be approved by the Chief Minister.
