JAMMU, Apr 17: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department of J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of RK Chhibber is conducting Government of India campaign “Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan” from April 15 to May 5 in the remote unbanked villages of Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua and Samba districts.
Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, highlighted that the branches doing extensive work in unbanked areas to approach the unbanked individual under the campaign Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan a special multi-departmental and multi-sectoral initiative for reaching out to the poor households in villages of districts Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua and Samba. The daily campaign aims at spread of awareness regarding the various social security schemes. He highlighted that this campaign mainly focuses on to give awareness about the benefits of various Social Security Schemes.
He advised all the branch heads for maximum enrolments in these unbanked and rural areas for the welfare of the weaker sections. The campaign also aims at spread of awareness regarding the various schemes of the bank with special rate of interests including car loan at 8.95 per cent, housing loan at 8.35 per cent and transport loan at 9 per cent.
Regional Managers of districts Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua and Samba working extensively in this ongoing campaign by contributed about 1000 enrolments of PMDY, PMJJBY and PMSBY in just four days of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan.
The focus is also on APY enrolment, at present bank is touching 8000 APY enrolments. People are also enrolling under GoI insurance schemes like PMJJBY and PMSBY. At present bank is touching 22000 enrolments in PMJJBY and 42000 in PMSBY. In order to enable 100 per cent renewal of existing enrolments under PMSBY and PMJJBY, the SMS are sent to the customers on regular basis for maintaining a minimum balance of Rs 330 and Rs 12 only. At present, the claim settlement rate in the bank is 100 per cent.
