JAMMU, Dec 2: J&K Grameen Bank has been conferred with a national level award for outstanding contribution towards Self Help Group Bank Linkage for FY 2021-22 under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).
The award was presented during recently held meeting of Chairmen Regional Rural Banks & SRLMs on SHG Bank Linkage & Financial Inclusion at NABARD, Head Office, Mumbai.
The National Award was conferred by Ministry of Rural Development Govt of India, through Nagendra Nath Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development (MRD), in presence of Nita Kejrewal, Joint Secretary (MoRD) and PVS Surya Kumar, Deputy Managing Director, NABARD.
The dignitaries, present on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of J&K Grameen Bank for promoting and wide spreading the credit facilities through Govt of India SHG-Bank Linkage programme to the needy masses. They also admired the efforts of the Bank for promotion of Financial Inclusion programme initiatives of Govt of India at the grass root level in UTs of J&K and Ladakh.
Receiving the award, Sanjay Gupta, Chairman J&K Grameen Bank, expressed his gratitude for the honour conferred by Ministry of Rural Department. He thanked NABARD for the support and guidance and further assured that J&K Grameen Bank will continue to play a major role towards development under each aspect and will ensure that the various initiatives of Govt of India like PMJDY Accounts, PMJDY Rupay Cards, Social Security Schemes, SHG & JLG Credit linkage programme, etc, reach the last man in remotest corner of UTs J&K and Ladakh.
