J&K Grameen Bank organizes financial literacy camp

JAMMU, Feb 8: J&K Grameen Bank in collaboration with NABARD organized financial literacy camp at Bahu Fort, here.
Regional Director RBI Dambarudhar Sethy was the chief guest on the occasion. He expressed his desire that more such camps should be organized at other such places also in near future.
He further advised the gathering to take full advantage of J&K Grameen Bank which is the only bank functioning in the area.
Earlier, Chairman JKGB RK Chhibber presented the welcome address and spoke at length about various loan and deposit schemes of the bank. He also apprised the gathering that JKGB has lowest interest rates in advances in the entire State since January 1, 2016 and asked people to avail the benefit of the same.
Speaking on the occasion, VK Sharma, Senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank informed the participants at length regarding the benefits of social security schemes. He further informed the gathering that these schemes have been designed to provide security cover to the poor population particularly those working in the unorganized sectors. He advised the people to avail this benefit through nearest Grameen Bank Branch. He also made people aware of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
School bags along with notebooks were distributed to the school children by Regional Director RBI and Chairman J&K Grameen bank.
The said programme was organized by NGO Indian National People Welfare Society at Bahu Fort.
In the end, RK Kalsotra, State President SC/ST/OBC Confederation, presented vote of thanks.
