JAMMU, Mar 27: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) J&K Branch (NIRC) successfully conducted a seminar on Bank Branch Audit at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road, Jammu.
The seminar aimed to enhance the knowledge and expertise of Chartered Accountants (CAs) in bank audits, with a special focus on advances, risk assessment and leveraging technology for audit efficiency.
In his inaugural address, Sourav Pargal, Chairman, ICAI-J&K Branch, emphasized the significance of continuous learning in the ever-evolving audit landscape and highlighted the crucial role of Chartered Accountants in ensuring financial transparency in the banking sector.
Jatin Malhotra, secretary J&K Branch, initiated the proceedings and guided participants through the key aspects of the subject. He reiterating the fact that CAs are true partners in nation building with their integrity and their acumen.
The seminar was graced by chief guest, Anil Kumar Goel, Director, J&K Bank Limited, who highlighted the vital role of auditors in strengthening the banking sector. He stressed the importance of independent and thorough audits in ensuring financial discipline and transparency.
The guest of honor, Sunit Kumar, General Manager, J&K Bank, emphasized the importance of collaboration between banks and auditors to ensure the stability and growth of the banking sector.
The seminar featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise on key aspects of bank branch audits.
Rajiv Singh (ex-Director, Union Bank of India) delivered an insightful session on the audit of loans and advances, covering risk assessment, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
Sangam Aggarwal (NIRC RCM) provided an overview of bank audits, discussing critical areas such as fraud detection and internal controls.
Avneet Singh, an expert faculty on CBS and Finacle, conducted an interactive session on leveraging technology for bank audits, particularly on Finacle.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by CA Amit Gupta, Vice Chairman of the J&K Branch.
Sanchit Aggarwal, treasurer, Ayush Sawhney, executive member of the J&K Branch, along with senior members and other CAs were also present in the event.
