JAMMU, Dec 29: The J&K Branch of the NIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India organized a seminar on Drafting of Appeals, Search & Seizure’ under Income Tax Act and Application of Central Employees Provident Fund Act in the UT of J&K and Ladakh.
CA Nitin Kanwar was the guest speaker who took the first technical session on Drafting of Income Tax Appeals and discussed the various provisions related to search & seizure under the Income Tax Act.
Prashant K, Regional Provident Commissioner-I was the chief guest on the occasion who took the second Technical session and briefed the members about the applicability and implementation of the provisions of Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 in the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh with effect from midnight of October 31, 2019. He urged the Chartered Accountants to create awareness and educate their clients about the applicability of the provisions of the Act.
K Ramesh, Regional Provident Commissioner-II was the guest of honour on the occasion. Officials from Central EPFO Department, later on gave a detailed power point presentation on filing of EPF returns. The guest speakers addressed various queries raised by the members during their respective sessions.
CA Shalay Razdan, Chairman of the branch welcomed & introduced the guest speakers. He also gave a representation to the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner -I for extending the due dates for depositing monthly contribution and filing of online PF Returns for the UT of J&K and Ladakh due to non availability of proper internet facilities.
CA Nakul Saraf, Secretary of the Branch, conducted proceedings of the seminar & CA Lalit Kumar Gupta, Vice Chairman of the branch presented the formal vote of thanks. A large number of Chartered Accountants along with officials of Provident Fund Department were also present on the occasion.
