JAMMU, Jan 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has introduced strict austerity measures to ensure fiscal discipline during the financial year 2024-25.
As per an order, key directives include limiting revenue expenditure in the last quarter to 30% of the budget allocation, with only 15% allowed in March, and avoiding last-minute spending rushes.
A 10% budget cut has been imposed on non-essential items like travel, hospitality, and advertisements.
The procurement of furniture and vehicles is restricted, and official functions are banned unless approved by top authorities.
The guidelines also emphasize compliance with e-tendering and discourage unnecessary financial commitments. All departments have been instructed to prioritize fiscal prudence and report compliance to the Finance Department.
