JAMMU, Jan 9: A J&K ITI United Front delegation, led by its J&K UT President and National Vice-President, Nazir Ahmed Molvi, today discussed the genuine issues of the community with Advisor to LG, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, and Commissioner Secretary, Rajeev Kumar Ranjan, here at Civil Secretariat Jammu.
Molvi was accompanied by Naresh Sharma, Vice-President of J&K ITI United Front, Karan Singh, Secretary, along with other members.
As per a statement, the delegation emphasized reorganizing the Skill Development Department, addressing post re-designation, and adhering to various guidelines and circulars issued on the subject.
The delegation members also highlighted that the recruitment rules, governed by SRO 145 of 2002 and SRO 328 of 2002, need updating. They claimed the ITI sector has been facing faculty shortage, impacting training programs.
Pending salaries under VTIP and equalizing Self Finance Scheme staff’s pay were also highlighted in the meeting. Vacancies in leadership roles, the need for a balance in skilled manpower, and uniform designation for instructional staff were also discussed.
The delegation sought uniformity in instructional staff designations and proposed renaming Instructor and Group Instructor to Training Officer and Senior Training Officer. They recommended adding a Senior Training Officer post for better supervision and qualitative improvement.
The Advisor & Commissioner Secretary assured the delegation of considering appropriate actions on their demands.
Notable union members present in the meeting included Sanjeev Choudhary, Sajid Ansari, Manjeet Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Shubram, Navneet Gupta, and Daljeet Singh.
