JAMMU, Jan 6: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated new Railway Division in Jammu today. The move was welcomed by the leaders of various political parties in Jammu and Kashmir.
In this regard, senior BJP and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta welcomed the inauguration of the Jammu Railway Division by PM Narendra Modi.
In a statement issued, Kavinder asserted that the establishment of a new Railway Division in Jammu and the upcoming launch of new train service to Valley are the new chapters of PM Narendra Modi’s development Saga in J&K.
“Today, J&K is witnessing the manifestation of the vision and tireless efforts of Prime Minister Modi towards the development and integration of this region with the rest of the country. The new Railway Division, along with the introduction of a direct train service to the Valley, will redefine connectivity, bringing people closer, improving trade and tourism and enhancing the socio-economic fabric of the region,” he added.
Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir also welcomed the inauguration of the Jammu Railway Division, describing it as a long-pending demand of the people that has finally been fulfilled today.
In a press statement issued, Mir expressed his hope that enhancing the railway network in Jammu and Kashmir would boost the economy by increasing trade activities and tourism, while also creating job opportunities.
Mir said, “I am pleased that the long-awaited Jammu Railway Division was finally inaugurated today by the Prime Minister. I am confident this project will not only shorten distances and speed up travel for people between destinations but also contribute to infrastructure development in our region.”
Arun Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for resolving the long pending demand of CCI by inaugurating the much needed Railway Division at Jammu.
Gupta said that Jammu has become a major hub of Railway Operation for intra-state Transportation and creation of Railway Division at Jammu will streamline running of Trains besides opening new avenues of employment.
“We expect that in the coming times Railways will explore rail connectivity in whole of Jammu division which will enable the pilgrims, tourists and local people to visit the famous religious as well as tourist places of Jammu division,” he said.
Ranvijay Singh, the Great Grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh ji, lauded PM Narendra Modi for the historic inauguration of the new Jammu Railway Division, calling it a game-changer in the development and integration of Jammu and Kashmir into the national framework.
In a press statement issued here today, Ranvijay Singh emphasized that the inauguration of the Jammu Railway Division reflects PM Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), where every region experiences equitable growth and connectivity.
“This milestone is not just about infrastructure; it’s about empowerment, inclusivity and unprecedented opportunities for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River and the engineering marvel of Anji Khad Bridge symbolize the aspirations of a modern India,” he said.
