J&K Legislative Assembly witnesses ruckus

SRINAGAR :  Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (LA) today witnessed ruckus after the entire opposition raised slogans and stormed into the Well of the House demanding revocation of SRP-105 which allows the government to lease out mining to the contractors, including from outsiders.
The SRO was issued on March 31 when the state was under Governor’s rule after the death of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7 at AIIMS, New Delhi.
As the House met today and speaker took up the first question of the day, members from opposition benches, including National Conference (NC), Congress and independent MLA Er Sheikh Abdul Rashid were on their toes, demanding to raise the issue of SRO.
However, speaker Kavinder Gupta rejected their demand and directed opposition members to resume their seats and allow Question-Hour smoothly.   The opposition members keep shouting slogans ” SRO 105 ko Khatan Karoo “( scrap the SRO-105).
Congress MLA G M Saroori from Inderwal constituency of Kishtwar district in Jammu region SRO-105 was a violation of Article 370. He alleged that non-locals, particularly from Pujab will get contracts and take over the entire business, involving the lives of lakhs of state subjects of the Jammu and Kashmir.
He said those involved in the mining from Kashmir and Jammu have also expressed their concern since it will badly affect them.
However, when Speaker continued the Question-Hour, majority opposition members from NC, Congress and Er Rashid stormed into the Well of the House shouting slogans like ” PDP hosh may Ajov” and “Mehbooba hosh may Ajov”.
“Punjab kay Dalaloon ko Barkhast Karoo”, ( dismiss the agents of Punjab) the  members from the opposition were shouting in the Well.          Normalcy returned in the house after Speaker later said he will allow members to speak on SRO after the Question-Hour. (AGENCIES)
