JAMMU, Dec 19: The PMGSY wing of the PW(R&B) department in J&K UT has received National Award on the basis of performance.
Official sources said that in an impressive function held at C Subramaniam Auditorium, NASC Complex, Pusa Road, New Delhi today, Commission/ Secretary R&B, J&K Khurshid Ahmed Shah received the award in presence of Chief Engineer PMGSY Jammu, Des Raj and Shaukat Jeelani Pandit, PMGSY (CE) from Kashmir.
Narinder Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Rural Development presented the award in presence of MOS, RDD, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and Union Secretary RDD, Amarjeet Singh. Additional secretary, RDD Alka Upadhyaye and Director General National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency were also present on the occasion.
Over 2000 delegates from various states and Union Territories of the country, attended the programme. J&K UT has been awarded among three other states for constructing maximum road length during last year under PMGSY Project, the spokesman said.
