J&K Police Arrests Two Drug Peddler With Contraband

SRINAGAR, Dec 1: Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession in Srinagar, officials said.
The accused have been identified as Arif Ahmad Sheikh a resident of Barthana Qamarwari and Asif Ahmad Sheikh of Babapora Barthana, police said on Sunday.

They said the duo was arrested at a checkpoint established at Barthana, when their vehicle in which they were travelling was intercepted.
“On search, 628 grams of Charas and 650 grams of Cannabis Powder were recovered from their possession,” they said.
Subsequently, both were arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 136/2024 has been registered at Police Station Parimpora and investigation initiated.
“We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, kindly contact the nearest police establishment or dial 112,” police added.
