JAIPUR, May 25:
A group of 23 Sarpanchs and Panchs from remote villages of Jammu and Kashmir visited Udaipur today under project ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ of the Army.
The delegates, who are from Banihal tehsil of Ramban district and its surrounding areas, are on a four-day educational tour of Rajasthan, defence spokesperson Colonel S D Goswami said today.
The delegates visited a model gram panchayat, small scale Khadi industry, leather products and marble handicrafts, Pichola Lake and Kumbhalgarh Fort in Udaipur and nearby areas.
Tomorrow, they will travel to Ajmer, where they will visit Dargah Sharif, Anasagar Lake and Tara Garh Fort. On Tuesday, the delegation will go on a sight-seeing trip around Jaipur.
The four-day educational tour has been organised by the Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Army based at Banihal. (PTI)
