J&K Single Window Act step in right direction: FoIJ

JAMMU, Sept 14: While describing “J&K Single Window (Industrial Investment and Business Facilitation) Act, 2018 as initiated by the State Governor Satya Pal Malik as a step in right direction, Federation of Industries, Jammu (FoIJ) has said that it will provide great relief to the Industrial Sector in the State.
FoIJ in a press statement here pointed out that the Industries Department is the first to introduce the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ concept with the efforts of Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce Department Shailendar Kumar resulting overall improvement of the State ranking in the ‘Ease of Doing Concept ‘adopted by the States in our country.
At present the Pollution Control Department also taken effective steps for the improvement in the Ease of Doing Concept by the introducing the on line issuing of consent to the industrial units but the time bound schedule should be adhere for the issue of Consent to the Industrial units.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the further improvement in the Ease of Doing Concept is depend in respect of simplification of power sanction procedure for the Industrial sector by the Power Development Department as at present it will take months to get the Power connection due to cumbersome procedure adopted by the Department as the files moving between 16 tables of different wings of PDD for the sanction of fresh power connections resulting the delay in the implementation of projects in spite of availability of land and other infrastructure for the setting up of new units.
FoIJ had drawn the attention of Governor that industrial graph is going down day by day due to non availability of State/Central fiscal incentives to new units and units under substantial expansion and it is the need of the hour to grant the State/Central fiscal incentives to attract the new industrial investment in our State for providing employment opportunities to the local youths of the State.
The FoIJ urged upon the Governor to extend the State fiscal incentives to new units and units under the substantial expansion and also take up the matter with Prime Minister for the extension of Central Fiscal Incentives at par with the North Eastern States to attract the new investment in State.
