JAMMU, Jan 29: The tableaux artist of Jammu & Kashmir today called on the President of India Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
The President of India witnessed variety of cultural events highlighting Unity in Diversity, brotherhood, women empowerment and secularism through the performance of folk dances of various States of India.
The folk dances of the State, showcased on the occasion, included Rouff of Kashmir, flower dance of Ladakh and Kud dance of Jammu region.
The State Tableaux was presented by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages.
The President of India and foreign NCC delegations from Russia, Singapore, Vietnam, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka etc highly appreciated the artists with great applause for their performance.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Nazir Hussain, Deputy Secretary/ SOCA-G1 troupe leader and Aftab Ahmad, Tableaux designer, were also present on the occasion.
