KISHTWAR Sept 21: Former Minister and National Conference MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo today assailed the PDP-BJP Government for shirking responsibilities towards people, saying the duo has plunged the State into unprecedented crisis.
Interacting with several delegations, the NC leader expressed anguish over the sufferings of people in Kashmir, saying the situation in the Valley has impacted governance at every level.
“The people have been left in lurch, as the presence of the Government is not visible at ground zero”, Mr Kitchloo said while expressing concern over difficulties being faced by the people on account of erratic drinking water supply and unscheduled power cuts besides scarcity of ration at CAPD outlets. He said the situation in the remote and far-off areas is all more precarious.
The former Minister said the Government has failed on all fronts and the accountability of administration has become the biggest casuality. In this context, he referred to the non-availability of staff in various health institutions of Chenab valley districts, saying this has been causing enormous problems to ailing people. He sought immediate filling up of the posts of doctors and para-medics besides strengthening diagnostic facilities in the hospitals and primary health centres, Allopathic dispensaries, especially the District Hospital Kishtwar, Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah and Gandoh. He also stressed the need for upgradation of various health institutions in the Kishtwar district.
Mr Kitchloo also sought the regularisation of doctors appointed under National Rural Health Mission and emphasised the need for filling up of vacancies by expediting recruitment process on fast track basis.
Referring to various other problems faced to the people, the former Minister hoped that the administration at local levels will realise their responsibilities especially in absence of the political direction and mitigate the sufferings of people.
