Tiranga rallies, other events mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

SRINAGAR/JAMMU, Aug 13: A series of events unfolded across Jammu and Kashmir under the banner of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign, resonating with an overwhelming sense of unity, devotion, and national pride.
Led by political leaders, and bureaucrats, these events marked a resounding celebration of India’s 75th Independence Day, amidst the ongoing “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
Under the stewardship of Ashok Bhat, District Srinagar orchestrated a remarkable Tiranga bike rally as a significant segment of the “Meri Maati, Mera Desh” campaign.
The rally, which traversed the route from J1 to Jawahar Nagar and then back to J1, stood as a resounding testament to the patriotism and fervour of the Kashmiri youth.
The presence of Tarun Chugh, chief guest, and other senior leaders like Sunil Sharma added to the grandeur of the event.
In a statement, Tarun Chugh’s words echoed the sentiment of unity and dedication to the Nation. He emphasized that the event was not only an answer to those who opposed Kashmiris but also to Pakistan. The rally embodied the aspirations of the people of PoK who wished to be part of India.

Ashok Bhat declared that the rally symbolized a firm retort to those who doubted Kashmiri dedication to the National flag. He proudly exclaimed that the rally showcased the overwhelming participation of Kashmiri youth, silencing naysayers and doubters.
Other leaders who participated in this Tiranga rally are Altaf Thakur, Arif Raja, Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, Anwar Khan, and others.
In Dansal Block of Nagrota Assembly Constituency in Jammu, a Tiranga Yatra resonated with patriotic fervor as part of the Amritkal Mahotsav, heralding the upcoming Independence Day.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament, lauded the BJP’s nationalistic character and its commitment to inclusive development.
He attributed the nation’s strides to the “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Pryas” mantra championed by Prime Minister Modi. He highlighted the breaking down of social barriers and the rise of the “Nation first” philosophy.
Devender Singh Rana, addressing the enthusiastic crowd, recognized the special significance of the approaching Independence Day.
He spoke of India’s emergence as a global leader under Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership, extending its influence in resolving conflicts, fighting global challenges, and strengthening democratic values.
Rana emphasized the world’s growing confidence in India’s capabilities, stemming from the ethos of ‘Vasudeva Kutumbakam’.
He underscored the country’s contributions to global welfare, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In Jammu East constituency, Priya Sethi led Tiranga rallies, paying homage to Brigadier Rajinder Singh and praising Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership.
She highlighted the Government’s commitment to inclusive development, economic reforms, and welfare of every citizen. Yudhvir Sethi, BJP Vice President, celebrated Prime Minister Modi’s dynamic leadership that had propelled India to new heights.
Pramod Kapahi, BJP Distt President Jammu also highlighted the significant strides made in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Amidst these events, the BJP Minority Morcha also took out an impressive Tiranga Rally in J&K, expressing gratitude to the martyrs and highlighting the region’s role in the armed forces.
The rally led by UT president Ranjodh Singh Nalwa was attended by a plethora of participants, including students, youth, general public, employees, police, and armed forces personnel.
The unity and solidarity displayed during the rally were a true testament to the patriotism and love for the motherland.
In a culmination of these events, the Panchtarni Base Camp bore witness to a series of heart warming activities as part of the “Meri Maati, Mera Desh” campaign.
The magnificent Tiranga Rally on foot and horseback to the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath Ji captured the essence of unity and patriotism.
The pledge-taking ceremony, lighting of diyas, and various programs exhibited the deep respect and gratitude towards the bravehearts who have safeguarded the nation.
Former Minister Pawan Gupta also led an impressive rally in celebration of India’s 75th Independence Day.
The procession, accompanied by patriotic melodies, created a captivating atmosphere akin to a festive celebration in Udhampur District.
Pawan Gupta commended the youthful vigour displayed during the event, recognising the dedication of conscientious citizens, District President Arun Gupta, Municipal Chairman Dr Yogeshwar, Vice-Chairperson Surinder Khalsa, and other leaders for propelling the success of the rally.
The event concluded with announcement of flag hoisting ceremony to be held at Lal Chowk on August 15.
A Tiranga Rally was also taken out in Hunipora and TN Pora Villages of Pulwama District by Rattan Lal Pandita, Sarpanch, Hunipora Panchayat. He described the rally as a unifying force in strengthening the Nation.
Officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also took out separate Tiranga Rallies under different programmes.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh led a Tiranga Rally in Jammu. DIG JKS Range, Jammu, Shakti Pathak, SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli, SDPOs besides SHOs of different districts participated in the rally.
The rally started from CPO Chowk, passed through Library Chowk via Parade, Shalamar, and culminated at Bus Stand Jammu. En-route, the ADGP Jammu Zone distributed the National flags amongst the public.
“Har Ghar Tiranga” and “Meri Mati, Mera Desh” campaign was also organised at 79 Battalion Headquarters of the CRPF at Sonwar, Srinagar.
All the officers and jawans gathered at Amar Singh Club where Kishore Kumar, Commandant 79 Battalion provided information related to the flag code and the flag to all the jawans present. Teachers and students of the local school were also present on the occasion.
A rally was also taken out from Amar Singh Club, Srinagar to RK Crossing TRC Srinagar, which returned via Gol Chakri Gupkar Road to Amar Singh Club, Srinagar where it was concluded.
A Tiranga Rally was also taken out in Samba District under the supervision of SSP Samba, Benam tosh. The rally started from Main Chowk Vijaypur and ended at Children Park with pledge taking ceremony and recitation of the National Anthem.
Thousands of people, including senior citizens, social activists, and police personnel participated in the historic rally.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh said that the main objective of organising the rally and administering the oath as part of Meri Maati Mera Desh was to inspire one and all especially youth to become responsible citizens of the country, strengthen unity, and respect the freedom fighters who protected the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
In Doda, a vibrant display of solidarity ignited the streets as the grand Tiranga Rally took center stage. Guided by Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan and Senior Superintendent of Police Abdul Qayyum, the rally embarked from the Sports Stadium, capturing the hearts of a spirited audience.
The Deputy Commissioner’s impassioned interactions and the chorus of patriotic slogans infused the air with a surge of motivation and fervour, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the nation.
This collaborative endeavor, orchestrated by the District Administration Doda, saw the enthusiastic participation of thousands, including students, local residents, and officials.
Simultaneously, in Bandipora, the momentum of unity and national integrity swelled as Deputy Commissioner Dr Owais Ahmad, and SSP Lakshay Sharma, led a Mega Tiranga Rally from SK Sports Stadium to Kaloosa Chowk.
With thousands of students, youth, and citizens in attendance, the vibrant tricolor flags and resonating patriotic banners epitomized their love for the motherland and honored the sacrifices of brave men and women.
The District Administration’s commitment to the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign was vividly evident as officers from Civil Administration, Police Department, and various sectors joined the spirited rally.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the Tiranga represents a symbol of national pride for every Indian and expressed deep appreciation for the strong sense of community and patriotism thriving within the district.
Ramban witnessed a captivating showcase of culture and patriotism under the theme “Meri Maati Mera Desh,” as Deputy Commissioner Mussarat Islam presided over a “Kavi Sammelan” hosted by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
Renowned poets recited verses, touching upon themes of unity, sacrifice, and devotion to the nation. The event drew the participation of several senior officers and cultural enthusiasts, embodying the district’s commitment to nurturing and preserving its cultural heritage.
A vibrant cultural bonanza unfolded, featuring captivating performances by talented singers who echoed patriotic fervor through their songs.
Panchtarni Base Camp became the backdrop for a heart warming celebration as part of the nationwide Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign.
The Tiranga Rally, ascending on foot and horseback to the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath Ji, ignited patriotic sentiments among the participants. The event encompassed engaging activities like selfies with the Tiranga and Maati, and the Panch Pran Pledge, symbolizing their commitment to a developed India, unity, and citizen responsibilities. The evening witnessed a touching tribute, as diyas were lit to honor the brave hearts who have selflessly served the nation.
In a heartwarming interaction, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, engaged with Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the Nation.
Amidst the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the event underscored the unyielding commitment and sacrifices of these individuals.
Deputy Commissioner Kundal emphasized the duty to safeguard the environment under the “Meri Matti Mera Desh” initiative, while highlighting the significance of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.
