J&K victim of wrong policies of BJP regime: Dr Manohar

BILLAWAR, Dec 10: Senior DAP leader and former Minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today addressed monthly public meeting at Dewal in Billawar and listened to grievances of people of the area.
Addressing the public meeting, Dr Manohar alleged that J&K is the victim of wrong policies of the BJP-led Central Government which is out to destroy the very foundation of democracy. “Only DAP under the leadership of former Chief Minister J&K Ghulam Nabi Azad is capable enough to defeat divisive policies of the BJP,” he said.
Seeking early restoration of statehood and also early polls, Dr Manohar said the prolonged Central rule was a negation of the Constitutional guarantees. “The BJP Government at the Centre is out to destroy the very foundation of the democracy in the country as it has done in Jammu and Kashmir aiming to rule it through remote control,” he said.
Dr Manohar dubbed tall claims about development of J&K as fake narrative and said that so called ‘back to village’ programmes, and frequent visit of Central ministers did not yield any results, reflecting the absolute failures on the part of the BJP Government on all fronts.
Reiterating the demand for a separate hill district comprising Billawar-Bani-Basohli, Dr Manohar accused the BJP Government of refusing to consider the demand while undertaking the exercise for re-organization of administrative units.
Dr Manohar also referred to poor road connectivity and alleged that J&K BJP leadership never coordinated with the Center for facilitating a rail-link even though the Pathankote-Kathua rail line was not far from the area. He appealed for support to DAP to liberate the Jammu & Kashmir from the menace of mis-governance and corruption. He said, support to Ghulam Nabi Azad is indeed a vote for developments because there is no other political option for common man to get benefits of equal opportunity and justice as envisaged in a democracy.
