JAMMU, Mar 25: Commemorating 50 years of Dogri Sheeraza, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized one day Seminar in the K L Saigal Hall Jammu, today.
Darshan Darshi, prominent Dogri poet and Scholar presided while Dr Jatindra Udhampuri Padmashree, renowned poet, critic, writer and scholar was the chief guest.  N D Jamwal, renowned Dogri poet, playwright, artist and scholar and Haroon Rashid, Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were also present in the presidium.
Delivering his presidential address, Darshan Darshi said that Dogri Sheeraza played a vital role in promoting the Art, Culture and Language of the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jatinder Udhampuri also complimented J&K Cultural Academy and all the respective editors including founder editor  K S Madhukar for their contribution to introduce Sheeraza Dogri to the journal of national and international reputes.
N D Jamwal, in his key-note address presented a detailed account of the role of Sheeraza Dogri for the promotion of Art, Culture and Languages in the 50 years and also brought forth the new faces in Dogri literature.
Earlier, delivering his welcome address, Haroon Rashid, Secretary of the Academy high-lighted the role of Dogri Section of the Academy.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri whereas vote of thanks was presented by Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary of the Academy.
Among the prominent personalities present were Prof Rita Jitendra, Dr Nirmal Vinod, Kumar A Bharti,  Shiv Dev Singh Sushil,  Mohan Singh, Dr Lalit Gupta,  Davinder Singh Vishavnagrik, S Balvinder Singh and D S Dhanjal.
