Jammu, Jan 30: To provide platform to the young budding writers, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized Multi-lingual Kahani Goshthi at Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Prof. Lalit Magotra, a prominent short-story writer presided over the event. He said that after going through the short-stories presented in this Kahani Goshthi, one can judge that indicates that the youth of the present tome is capable of thinking intellectually and feeling the merits and de-merits of the society.
Prof. Rita Jitendra, who was chief guest on the occasion, said that it’s a matter of pleasure and proud that the young women writers came up with their creative writings in such a way that they have the capacity to lead the society and also pin-point the fundamental sights of women folk living in our diverse society.
Prof. Kiran Bakshi, Principal of GCW Gandhi Nagar said that organizing such literary activity particularly for the budding student writers of the college will be fruitful in creating the second line of the respective area. She hoped such more activities in future too.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, said that since last few years, J&K Cultural Academy, as a policy, arranged number of activities for the young budding writers, artists to provide them a platform to explore their talent with a mission to catch them young. He further said that after a successful round of poetic symposiums, mushairas specifically for young poets, now this series of Kahani Goshties for young budding writers encouraged the Academy to organize such more activities in future too.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Rattan Basotra, Asstt. Editor, Dictionary and Vote of thanks was presented by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri, J&K Cultural Academy.
Those who presented their short-stories, were, Farhana Farooq Urdu(Rishtey), Latika Sharma Hindi(Pahchan), Rekha Bhau Dogri(Meena), Navleen Kaur Punjabi(Siyani Soch) and Radhika Bali English(Beyond the Boundary).
Dr. Baljit Raina, Surinder Goel, Hardeep Singh Deep, Sunil Sharma, Balwinder Singh, Kumar A Bharti, teacher faculty of Language Departments and students were also present on the occasion.
