JKAACL organises Urdu writers conference at JU

JAMMU, Oct 16: Two-day Urdu writers conference by the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) began today at the Department of Urdu, Jammu University.
The title of the conference was “Social and Cultural Challenges in Urdu Language and Literature”. The inaugural session was presided over by Prof Anwar Pasha, former head of the Department Jawahar Lal Nehru University.
Prof Qadoos Javed presented the keynote address while Prof Mohd Reyaz Ahmad, Professor and Head of Department of Urdu, Jammu University, shared the presidium with Bharat Singh, Secretary JKAACL.
Dr Shahnawaz, Editor Cum cultural Officer, JKAACL presented vote of thanks The inaugural session was conducted by Dr Farhat Shamim, Asstt Professor, Department of Urdu.
After the inaugural session, paper reading session was organised in which Dr Nusrat Jabeen, Dr Alataf Anum and Dr Abdul Rashid Manhas presented papers.
The session was presided over by Anil Sehgal, a renowned Journalist while Khalid Hussain was guest of honour. The session was conducted by Prof Rashid Manhas, Assistant Prof, Department of Urdu.
