JAMMU, Apr 22: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today organized a classical and semi-classical dance performance by Manju Wazir and her Group in the Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
Dr Aziz Hajini, Secretary and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary of the Academy, were also present in the presidium.
Guru Manju Wazir is a daughter of the soil and has presently settled in Noida where she is running her own institute of Kathak dance besides serving as teacher in a reputed school there.
Guru Manju Wazir has been lucky enough to have learning under the noble guidance of late Pt Durga Lal ji and Munna Lal Shakula ji at Kathak Kendra and completed three years of Diploma course in 1992. She has earned a lot of name and fame in the field by way of her performance across the country.
Today she made the audience spell bound by the performances given by her and her students namely Varinder Kacker, Aniksha Tiwari, Sanskriti Soam, Samishka Purohit, Aarushi Gupta and Sabsaree Arvind.
Dr Hajini in his welcome address highlighted the aims and objective of the Academy and expressed his satisfaction that JKAACL is marching towards achieving its goal with the active co-operation and support of the art lovers in general and fraternities of Art, Culture and Languages in particular.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Arvinder Singh Amn.
