JAMMU, June 10: A Punjabi Kavi Durbar was organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) today in collaboration with Kanchan Art Society, R.S Pura, at Sun Shine Public School, R.S Pura under the guidance of Bharat Singh, Secretary JKAACL.
Rajesh Sharma, Principal, Sun Shine Public High School was chief guest whereas Khazan Singh Sabar presided over the function.
Popinder Singh Paras, Editor, Sheeraza & Incharge Programme was also present in the presidium.
Punjabi poets presented their poetry on different issues of contemporary world.
S.S Chohalvi, President Kanchan Art Society delivered welcome address.
In his presidential address Khazan Singh emphasized on the need of using Punjabi as mother tongue at family level.
The poets who recited their poetry included Dr. Baljit Singh Raina, Bhupinder Singh Bhargav, Harjit Singh Uppal, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, Rajpaul Singh Mastana, Harbhajan Singh Upasak, Saran Star, Manjit Singh Kaamra, Balwinder Singh Deep, Shamsher Singh Chohalvi, Balkar Singh, Jang S. Verman, Pritam Singh Anjaan, Swami Antar Neerav, Pyasa Anjum, Tejinder Kour, Rahi Simbalpuria, Ravinder Kour, Jaswinder Singh and others.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Shamsher Singh Chohalvi while vote of thanks was extended by Rajesh Sharma.
